I was running a catering business with a friend then she moved. It was overwhelming to do by myself. Well, I started a professional organizing business about nine years ago, Mind Over Clutter, to feed my urge to clean out people's closets, cabinets, and wherever else they crammed stuff. I know, I'm strange like that. And make a small living doing it! Over the course of the past 9 years the economy has taken a turn. We won't go into economics or politics here. There have been less requests for cleaning, organizing, and purging. More people are staying in their homes and re-decorating and remodelling instead of selling and moving. They love the custom decor look but can't afford the "decorators to the stars". The art of sewing has been somewhat lost in these modern times. That's where I come in!
Call me old-fashioned. I love sewing, cooking, crafty stuff. I confess I volunteered to help with room mother duties, cub scouts, etc when my kids were younger to feed my other urge to make stuff.
So the name stuck because I do have to have my "creative" mind set above the clutter that piles up here periodically. Well, actually a lot. But I do sew stuff then it goes to a new home! (I'm justifying the piles right here)
I still do professional organizing. I still do catering on an individual basis for private dinner parties, that type of thing. I hope you'll check out my other pages to see what else I make.
