All of my t-shirt quilts are made to order, sewn in a non-smoking, pet-free environment. You just supply the t-shirts, I'll supply the border and sashing fabric, stabilizer, thread for hand-tying, and backing fabric. All t-shirts should be sent clean and un-cut. I cut the squares and back each one with a special fabric stabilizer which keeps the squares from stretching out of shape yet holds the soft t-shirt feeling. Each square is sewn with a border, usually soft washed denim because who doesn't love t-shirts with jeans? You choose the color of backing fabric and shade of denim for the border. The border around all 4 sides really highlights each t-shirt square. I can make special requests for the border too, if you like (as long as it's a woven fabric). The quilt is then backed with micro-fleece which provides all the warmth of a traditional quilt without the bulk of batting plus backing you get with a traditional quilt. I hand-tie the quilts for the finishing touch. I find if a quilt is machine quilted all over, it takes away from the design on the t-shirt.
